A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.
Alice Gao, travel | lifestyle | fashion photographer, and occasional director, is a recent transplant to Williamsburg. She filled us in on what she’s missing most pre-COVID “Too many things! But namely: travel (Europe specifically), sitting at bars and serendipitous encounters with strangers,” and her ideal day in her new neighbourhood.
Alice Gao Backstory.
“I don’t think I set out to create a brand intentionally — when I started embarking on photography full-on, I mainly just shared the things that interested me. I had a blog and was a very early adopter of Instagram. In many ways, much has stayed the same — the things I’m interested in have evolved and I’ve honed in a bit on my photography perspective.”
What’s next.
“Not the most scintillating, but I’m currently working on a portfolio overhaul. The design will allow me to share more series of works and more personal projects.”

12:00 PM
Alice heads to Gelateria Gentile for a mid-day treat.
“My absolute favorite gelato in the city. The crema antica flavor is a must-have! I’ve started getting these by the pint or occasionally by the quart…”
3:00 PM
In the afternoon, she browses Wine Therapy for the perfect bottle to enjoy in the evening.
7:00 PM
For dinner you’ll find Alice picking up her favourite slice from Leo to enjoy at home.
“They are a full sit-down restaurant, but I especially love getting their pizza slices from the bakery side to go as an afternoon snack or after a very long shoot day. Don’t skip the add-on chili oil. It’s the best!”
