A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.

Elana Zajdman, Senior Accessories Editor at InStyle and jewelry connoisseur & designer.

What Elana is missing from pre-COVID.

“I miss being with other humans and sharing food and wine and just sitting at a crowded bar elbow to elbow with strangers!! Oh what a beautiful life that was!”

Elana picks up goods from Sahadi’s, a 121-year old, third-generation, family-owned Middle Eastern grocer.

“The original location on Atlantic Avenue has more than 200 bins of ancient grains, spices, roasted nuts, dried fruits, the most incredible olives, and rare cheeses, as well as hummus and kibbeh…the list goes on!”

There are even plans to begin a cocktail program that uses flavors and spices from the Lebanon region which I am dying to try!”

Midday she heads to Black and female-owned, BLK MKT Vintage to browse their incredible collection of heirlooms, books and collectibles.

7:00 PM

In the evening you’ll find Elana at her favourite restaurant, The Four Horsemen, for a glass of natural wine and their homemade bread and cultured butter.

“Offering art, some of their amazing wines, and pre-batched and bottled cocktails on their website. They change their menu often so I can’t say I’ve had everything, but almost everything, and it’s all delicious.”
