A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.
Phoebe Rutherford lives in Notting Hill, London and works as a part time illustrator of pubs and restaurants (part time working in an NHS admin role). During lockdown she started Wine Dine & Line with a few friends; curated evenings of guided line drawing, food, & wine. We caught up with Phoebe on how she became the illustrator for the Wine Dine and Line supper clubs and her ideal day in London.
Backstory on Wine Dine and Line
“I had started drawing the restaurants I was missing during lockdown and then other people got in touch with their favourite places. I had not focused on illustration before but was getting so much from doing it and wanted to pass along my love for drawing. We dreamt up the idea of Wine Dine and Line with Roya - she would design the table, Alex would cook and I’d give drawing lessons (using the table as a still life) between courses.”

11:00 AM
Phoebe stops by Layla Bakery for coffee and a pastry to start her day right.
“Layla’s is an amazing bakery at the Golborne Road end of Portobello road. It’s going to be our first venue for Wine, Dine and Line now that we’ve outgrown Roya’s (co-founders) flat. It’s a beautiful space, with delicious bread, pastries and sandwiches - and a wine bar in the summer.”
3:00 PM
Browsing the latest independent magazine titles at Kuro Kiosk.
“Kuro Kiosk is a new independent magazine shop. It also stocks amazing stationary and desk tidies (which I definitely need for my mountain of pens).”

Phoebe strolls around Sally Clarke Food and picks up a pre-dinner snack.
“Sally Clarke bakery on Westbourne Grove has the best sausage rolls, in two sizes to suit your mood/appetite.”
