A Day in the Life

Learn from London chef Robbie Spencer Ashworth and discover the city’s best markets

A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.

Robbie Spencer Ashworth is a Freelance Private Chef, living in Finsbury Park, London. We caught up with Robbie on what he’s missing from pre-Covid, his business and favourite spots in London. “I’m missing SO MUCH! From a business point of view I miss supper clubs and bringing people together in a shared dining experience and from a personal point of view; holidays, ease of seeing friends and full, buzzing restaurants (PPE nowhere to be seen!)”,

Backstory.

Robbie used to work in the wine trade running food and wine courses, and as much as he enjoyed that, he decided to retrain and focus on what he really loved - the actual food and cooking it. Having retrained, he knew that instead of working in a restaurant he wanted the flexibility and freedom of working for himself. From a creative perspective, he craved the ability to design his own dishes and menus with a focus on fine dining for private clients.

What’s Next.

Robbie has been working on a new concept for a while - a Chef's Table - 6 courses and 6 people showcasing the best ingredients, many of which are grown, foraged and hunted on our farm back in Norfolk.

Market Best

“The best market on Saturdays. Local artisan cheeses, great boutique wine stalls and one of the best burgers around (Motherflipper!).”

11:00 AM

He then stops by Green and Glory

Green and Glory is a brilliant fruit and veg shop in Finsbury Park with a real focus on seasonal vegetables. This time of year you'll find so many varieties of apples, pears, figs, it's worth popping in just for the display!”
