A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.
Asami, a Kyoto Japan native and nail and tattoo artist, lives in Bushwick/Bedstuy ( I am literally on the border), Brooklyn. We caught up with Asami on what she’s missing pre-COVID and her favourite spots to eat in Brooklyn.
Asami Backstory.
“Asami's brand expresses a strong passion to create. Her attention to detail shines through the nail and tattoo designs she ideates. A seasoned and self-taught professional with over a decade of experience, Asami began her career in the city at Vanity Projects in New York. Not long after, she launched BISOU salon in 2016. She has since shifted her focus to private appointment experience for her clients at her studio.”
What’s next.
“Asami is bringing tattoos to the center of her brand and aims to provide meaningful artwork for her clients. She is ramping up her tattoo business in an uninspiring time, continuing to create joy while the world feels like it is on pause. Due to the pandemic, she is remodeling her studio so the renovations provide an even more comfortable experience than before. Stay tuned on her instagram @asami812 for some exciting flash tattoos, which will be available to everyone until her books fill up.”
What Asami is missing from pre-COVID.
“Going to the theater and concerts.”
